If I have a manual car and am putting in an aftermarket aluminum radiator that has hook ups for trans cooling on it for an AOD car is it possible or even worth it to turn it into an oil cooler???? Just curious really it would be slick if it would work ya know? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

i dont think that is gonna work to well. i might be wrong but the transmission fluid is being pressurized and push through and unless you have some way of pumping your oil through it its never going to make it to the cooler on the radiator and if it does manage to get sucked up into it somehow its just going to stay in the cooler and lines. just my opinion on it.

I think it would work fine. The only what if is whether the cooler is going to flow enough motor oil to do any good. Trans fluid is much thinner than motor oil. You might be better off plumbing it as a power steering fluid cooler.

Power steering and auto tranny fluid are close to the same viscosity and thickness. i wouldnt recomend that either. just me.

If you want to cool the oil, install a dedicated stacked plate oil cooler.

The thing in the radiator really isnt a cooler - it's a heat exchanger. I would not use for motor oil myself.

MHO.
Good luck.
