oil dipstick re-install question

ok in my other thread, i installed some BBK shorty equal headers and now i cant seem to mount the dipstick right. the picture on it is crappy and i dont understand it! can someone tell me how to route the dipstick tube around the equal headers so it can be bolted on right?

i dont know, but i will bump ya. some folks have had to run a flexible dip stick/housing (lokar, etc)....good luck.

When I bought my car the dipstick tube was clamped to one of the header tubes with a stainless hoseclamp

A lot of people end up breaking their dipstick, trying to bend them different ways. Like me for instance. I bought a chrome Ford one to replace my oem one, from Summit and it fits PERFECTLY my longtubes, without any bend in it. And its chrome. I highly recommend it.

dude, buy the flexible Lokar dipsitck. That damn thing was probably one of the best things I've ever bought for my car. There were days I couldn't even get my dipstick back in (had MAC equals at the time) because I had the dipstick bent around the headers.

it doesn't have to be in there any certain way. if it's out, find the hole and shove it in. find somewhere that the tube mount fits best and bolt it on. you can bend it a little, but be very careful. maybe you'll have to do a little fabbing. no problems with my LT's.
