oil dipstick

The hole for the dip stick isn't in the oil pan, it's in the block. If you got the lokar one you will really like it, fits like a glove and takes about 5 minutes to install it.

I just bought a Lokar dip stick tube because I needed something to go around my BBK LT headers. I'm having a hard time trying to get the dip stick tube into the block because the headers are in the way so I cant really get ahold of it, and it fits very tightly into the block hole. Does anyone have any suggestions on installing these with LT headers on the car? Thanks.

(3 months ago) I bought the same Lokar, small block ford fleible oil dipstick based on the same recomendations from the "stangers" on this forum. And, it did not fit, not even close(too fat to fit into the block). Plus its too short to mount anywhere useable. You'd get burned on the headers trying to check your oil.

Sorry you (and I) waisted our money.... :bang:

Throw it the flick away and buy the standard ford tube and carefully bend it to suit your needs.

Well that is dissapointing to hear, but thank you for confirming the difficulty I have been having. I bought it based on recommendations from this site and the Corral. Strange that other people say they go right in real easy. I wonder if they changed the design or something. I may just try to sand it down a bit to make the fit easier. Thanks for the feedback.
