Sorry to keep bringing this up but, with the PCV valve out and the grommet, if you shine a light down in there, shoud you be able to see that baffle, or is it recessed further back? I took everything out and there is a metal casing with a bunch of wire screen that was in there, i guess thats supposed to filter the oil. Thanks guys!

I ran into the same problem when I installed my TFS-R series intake. I didn't transfer the baffel over,and the result was an oil coated intake and plugs. I too burned oil like crazy. the harder I accelerated the more it smoked...
from what Yellowpony describes in his first post, the only solution is to take the intake off and transfer over the pcv baffel...

The Cobra and Lightning intakes I have used both had baffles out of the box.
I still get oil in the intake though.
This is a real frustrating issue for alot of people, myself included.

Sure seems like rings to me, you need to do a "dry" compression test, then a "wet" compression test.
All you do is squirt a little oil into the cylinder before you do the wet test. It is a good way to find out if you have ring issues. If the pressure goes up dramatically you have problems.

Well, im glad you said i should be able to see the baffle. There is NO baffle in there, i even stuck my finger as far down in there as i could and couldnt feel anything (i know that doesnt sound good!). I ordered a install Kit from Edelbrock and it came with a metal piece, and i wondered where that thing went, guess now i know. I guess the previous owner decided that it shouldnt have been there. If i am gonna pull the intake off, im gonna install the BBK SSi Intake that i have been eyeing up. I really want to get this figured out as i have a Procharger ordered for it, and if it needs a motor i want to know now rather than later, haha.
BTW, anyone here in PA? I live about 25min from Cecil county dragway, once i can get this thing on the road, i wouldn't mind meeting up with some other stang owners!

I removed the open air breather and reattached the line to the TB....still have the same issue. I have not installed the TFS intake yet so unless the stock intake "lost" the baffle it should still be there, yet my intake still gets a hefty dose of oil....I really hate this problem.

Take a peak down the oil filler tube. You should see the oil baffle. If you can see the rockers, then it is time to pull the cover and fab a baffle.
What happens is oil gets slung off of the rockers, flinging the oil up the filler neck.
