Hey all. Having major problems with oil in the intake. The PCV valve and screen are new. Engine had work done 14 yrs ago only 400 miles since. Sat for 12 yrs just got it back up and running. We pulled the plugs and put MMO and Deep Creep in and let sit for a week while hand cranking daily. Put plugs back in and started and at idle after about 5 minutes the catch can fills with oil. It used to happen under throttle, but now just idling it does it. How can I fix this? Thanks

I don't know if the below will help clue in on the problem.

Info on the engine:
Bored and honed .020
Crane cam
Crane hyd rollers
Comp rocker arm
ARP rod bolt kit
Trick Flow Twist Wedge Aluminum Heads
Trick Flow Intake
Pro-Flow Mass Air
Edlebrock TB
MAC Long tube headers
Charcoal canister and A/C removed
MSD Ignition

Could be, probably--intake manifold gasket leak. Oil sucks up through the manifold intake, sucking FROM where the lifters are then going into the intake valve.
Does this help?? I'm trying... let me know. I'll be online later.

Hi Hildagar thanks for the reply. The oil is coming through the PCV valve, I have a catch can directly off it, but its being filled (12 oz) within seconds of warm idle.

Should be able too. The baffle stops oil from being slung onto the pcv screen...

Either that or the oil galley plug directly below the pcv is leaking high pressure oil into the valley.

a91what you were right, it was the oil galley plug. When they built the engine back in early 2K they punched the hell out of that plug and hit the side of the inner wall it fits into causing an indent. With the oil warmed up it shot straight out the side and towards the PCV filter. The baffle was there, but the plug is on the outer rim. With a larger plug, some green loctite and a heat lamp during the night it is now sealed. Thanks man!

A word of warning.
The guys here are picture whores, if you don't have any of your car or the work your doing to it post some beer with strange names or a random chic with a car. Large bottles of liquor work too.
