what oil pan do i use for a 1995 5.0 in a 1965 mustang coupe with the serpentine system from the 5.0 and power steering that was already on the car

Use your old 289 pan. you have to change the pickup from rear to front.

where can i get the parts to do that. are they gonna have to be high dollar parts from somebody like moroso or could i get that at any parts stor like napa or kragens

you should be able to get those parts at a ford dealer or a good parts sore just tell them you need the pickup for your 289

I bought a knock-off on EBAY for 80 bucks. 8qrt pan WITH PICKUP and it's gold iridated,too. I saw the pump cavitate once and that was it all it took for me.

i was told that ford changed the block and that the bolt patterns from the two where the oil pan is supposed to bolt up is different i dont know if this is true. is it?

If the bolt pattern has changed, then its done it sometime in between '90 and '95.

I run a '90 5.0 block with a '65 289 oilpan, timing chain cover, dipstick, timing chain and fuel pump eccentric with no problems. I use a 46.5" serpentine belt to run my waterpump and 3G alternator (no p/s). If you use a 5.0 timing chain and eccentric with a 289 timing cover, you may have clearance problems like I did; you may not notice a problem until you start the motor. A lot of this kinda depends on if you are running a mechanical fuel pump or electric.

Not true. Any 260, 289, 302 pan will bolt onto the 95 5.0 motor. He will have to drill the timing cover for the dipstick tube OR swap over his existing timing cover then buy all aftermarket brackets and pulleys to be able to keep the serpentine setup.

OR do what I did: solder the dipstick tube into the side of the new (old 289) oil pan. Easier... works the same but shorter, so the stick needs to be cut. That way the timing cover and all the serpentine belts stay as factory.

Sorry, don't know. I think it was even made over seas. It was on Ebay. No names on the thing. I have a roller motor with an '68 crank(machined for one piece),and a 289 cover with an Autozone stock replacement water pump for a 88 5.0. And I run a 23 in belt, I think. It was a huge pain with an aftermarket harmonic balancer. So, just about everything is interchangable.

I used a Canton 8-qt with matching pick up on a '92 5.0 installed in a '65 coupe. It fits well, clearing everything. Looks cool too, with the gold finish. FWIW.

to swap the '95 302 into your stang you need to do two things. Use an oil pan and oil pickup that would fit an early (original) 302. All you are looking for is a front sump design. Secondly you need to move the oil dipstick from the leftside of the block to the front timing cover. However to do this you have to change the timing cover to a <93 mustang style that has the boss ready to be drilled.
