I’m swapping a 1988 EFI motor into my 67 coupe and need to replace the oil pan with a front sump only design. The only front sump pans I find indicate that they are for a 2-piece rear main seal. I assume the 88 5.0 is a 1-piece seal.

Is there a difference in a 1-piece rear seal oil pan and a 2-piece?

No difference in the pan other than what you already figured out.

the one or 2 piece seal design applies only to the seal on the crankshaft, not the oil pan. the pans interchange with no problem, just use the one piece oil pan gasket.
