I've got an '87 Cougar with the 5.0L that about 8 months ago I blew the tranny on. At that point I figured since I was pulling the motor out to take the tranny into the shop I would also fix the oil leaks that were coming from the valve cover gaskets, and the oil pan gasket. I also decided to replace the oil pan while I had it off. Now 8 months later I found that I still had a mild leak from around the oil pan, so yesterday while I was underneath the car I tightened up the pan a bit. Today, it leaks like a siv. Any suggestions? I think I might have put a "little too much" torque on 'er. Now I should buy a new pan that isn't bent, and put a new gasket on 'er. While I'm at it I should purchase a new rear main seal. Any suggestions on where to buy these parts and the easiest way to do this? It has the same "double hump" oil pan as the Mustang.
Also, on a side note... my 95 GT is leaking from the axle tube right at the diff. These are pressed in right? What can I do to fix this?
Thanks for the help, and advice!
