Being the busy guy I am:p , I brought my car to the shop. It's a 93 GT. It's been there for over three weeks.:bang: They have not finished it yet. :fuss: (Quite professional, huh?) They are fixing a vacuum leak, transmission cross member, hesitation problem and the oil pan. For this, they've given me a total quote of $630.00. Does that sound fair or am I getting ripped off? They have installed the oil pan twice now (going on 3rd) , due to a problem with the engine running for a minute and then shutting off. It starts leaking between the transmission and the pan. It is a stock chrome pan from Summit. My question is: Are there other cars that use the 302 engine (similiar to the engine in a fox body)? I ask this because last year I received a used engine from a different shop and I heard there are other cars that use that same engine, I am just not sure if it is the same oil pan. Or is it possible that they could have installed a different 302 (such as one from a 5.0 T-Bird or Explorer....... those two are all I know of.) Can anyone clarify this for me?
