oil pan question

ok i have a pan gasket leak but i also have a stripped rear drain plug. it threads in but doesnt really get that tight.any suggestions to fix or do i have to pull the pan.

I'am gonna say you need to drop the pan. You can get another nut welded in for the rear drain plug. Plus you can fix the gasket leak at the same time. Unfortunately, best way to fix it, is not always the easiest.

is it easier to jack up the motor or drop the kmember

This is a little off the topic, but I recently ran into trouble with my oil plug stripping some. I took it to my shop and they found that a helicoil was uses in the pan. I have been the only one to change the oil, so it must have come from the factory with the helicoil. Maybe ford messed up and had to fix the hole??? Anyone else ever run into this?

i just put a drain plug in it there was no threads on the plug
