Oil Pressure Gauge Doesn't Work...

as Eades said, i would really really suggest getting a real gauge. stick a tee on the sender hex tube and run both.

also, you could try grounding the sender wire - it should peg the gauge (to see if the gauge actually works and that the wire has continuity).

:OT: you are lucky - i'd love to go to Knoxville - just to meet Michael Yount and see his rides and shoot the stuff with him (one of those guys, if you dont know him, who has forgotten more than i will ever know. super nice guy too).

good luck.

Is he a big Ford guy? Motorsports in general?
he is:

he is one of the top most respected and knowledgable car guys i have ever had contact with (IMHO). super nice guy as well. i know he used to do some SCCA racing. he is known in here for his modded 82 Volvo with a 5.0L, Z spec T5, etc. he has had his share of some very sweet rides.

he has been asked to write some articles and such, as well. as you can tell - im a huge fan of his. i bet i could listen/watch the guy wrench for a month and learn something (little nuances) with each turn of the wrench. he posts in 5.0 tech mostly (and the corral, etc).

like i said, i would definately want to meet him, if i had the chance. lately he has posted pics of his car - i would look but pic threads on dial up are horribly slow to search through. EDIT: here is a pic -
