I still have the original guages in place so I'm not sure of the accuracy. I notice that often my oil pressure runs about 3/4 of the way towards high. Is this anything to be concerned about? I'm curious about what factors affect the oil pressure?

I'm trying to attach a photo of the guage but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.

Any comments or input is appreciated

better high than low IMO as long as your not spewing oil past gaskets.

What's the difference between idle and operating speed? When I rebuilt my engine I picked up a couple cheap gauges from Wal-Mart so I would be certain on oil and temp. Easy to install and will let me know exactly where I am until I decide my final cluster mod.

Even though factory gauges aren't very good, that indicates great oil pressure. It should read higher when the car is first started and at highway speeds, then drop some as it is warm and idling, (such as sitting at atoplight).
