Oil Prime????

Oil doesnt require priming. :p

You can pull the dizzy and use a priming tool attached to your drill. Or use extensions and a socket (not as smooth a way of doing it). The tools are cheap.

The drill needs to be reversible and have a little bit of oomph to it.

Good luck.

Try one of these...

If you do not get a drill with some power, you could burn it up. It needs to have some torque to it.

You install the primer down the distributor hole on the oil pump driveshaft, then put the drill on the primer tool.

Make sure the drill is going in reverse (counterclockwise), and start cranking:)

Should take 30-60 seconds to build up some oil pressure.

You can watch it on the guage, and you will feel it when you get some oil pressure.

Many times, a good indicator of proper oil flow is to watch the oil come out of the top of the pushrods.

i read one time that like 80% of engine wear comes from starting the motor before oil pressure builds...

dont know if it helps or not but i always put my foot in the gas and turn the motor over a few times to get some oil goin... anyone else do this before they start?
