Oil pump/ Oil Pan Fitment Problems

I have the FRPP 351w double sump swap oil pan for the mustang. Im having all kinds of clearance problems with this. I had my main stud girdle on, but i had to get rid of it all together because the oil pan hit it EVERYWHERE. Now that i have the girdle gone, the oil pump doesnt fit into the sumped area. Im having to bang the pan all up to get it to fit. I was just wondering if anyone else had these problems?? Seems like it should all fit fine.

Ive heard if you use a high volume oil pump, the pump will hit the pan as per ford motorsport hot line.. hope that helps... p.s. a stock pump im told will not have this problem.

I had a Melling HV pump that required the propane torch and hammer treatment on a stock 302 pan. Heating the pan cheryy red before beating it helps make the metal easier to stretch. Re-heating it just below the orange temp and then letting it cool slowly helps to relieve the stress caused by the hammering.

if you use ball hammer. you can dimple the pan enough for it to work. here in new york at mccarville ford they have pan on the wall showing where to make the dimple..
