Hi all,

I do wonder, cleaning oil pump pickup tube with throttle body may damage pickup tube?

Do you have any recommendations how I can clean oil pump pickup tube?

Do you recommend to buy new one? It’s works perfectly while changing pan gasket I think it’s good idea to clean but I don’t know how to clean without damaging. Is it better to buy a new one?

I was taught to never reuse a pickup or an oil pump.... Never take a chance of contaminants being flushed into a " new " engine....

Being you are in Sweden and availability of parts is not like here in the US for domestic cars I would just clean it. If you have a solvent tank that will work but if not then brake cleaner would be my next choice.

I have reused the pickup tube on my car three times but its a Canton road race pan and they are not cheap.

I cleaned mine using brake cleaner and a physical wipe and heavy inspection afterwards. New oil pump.
