i just got this 94 gt vert and its almost due to its first oil change. It has 112k mi. rt now and im wondering if i should just stay with regular oil or if it would be safe to switch to synthetic at this point?

One more question: what rear shocks would you guys recommend for it. Need new ones
thanx in advance guys.

Ive always been told to run regular oil if it has been ran that long with regular oil.... although they do have durablends wich are better then conventional oil you can use. Then again you may be able to run ful synthetic with no problem. Far as shocks go I like the Tokico Premiums or 5 way adjustables.. they are a good bang for the buck.

What out when to switching synthetic oil with over 100 k miles, leaks can occure. I switched to synthetic and got some oil leaks, oil pan & rear main seal. I'd suggest some type of synthetic blend, best of both worlds, IMO.

Something I noticed.. I switched to royal purple 10-40w and noticed it consumed this oil more then my conventional oil. I have a feeling it was doing what most aftermarket intakes like to do and sucked it up through the pcv valve. Most ppl like to think that doesnt happen but ive proved to of my freinds wrong when I pulled thier pcv valve hose loose at the intake and there was oil all around it and found a small puddle just behind the throttle body inside the intake... I hate that crap.

I switched to synthetic at 90k miles. No extra leaks, no change in oil consumption.
