oil question

my friend told me is should switch to synthetic motor oil.. the question is i have a 96 cobra and have used reugual motor oil in it from the dxay that i have owned it. i have heard it ios bad to switch from a regular motor oil to a synthetic oil. please help

It shouldn't be a problem. Although it would've been better if you used synthetic oil for every oil changes.

At 18k miles in my 01 GT, I switched from using Motorcraft 5w-20 w/ Motorcraft filter to Mobil 1 0w-20 w/ Mobil 1 oil filter and had zero problems.

I don't think you will have any problems. Just my opinion.
