Oil Residue in Radiator

Recently went to add anti-freeze to my radiator and noticed some oil residue near the opening. I put the anti-freeze tester in the hole and it had the sluggish look of oil and water mixture on the tube. The oil dipstick showed no water in oil. Could the radiator inner sleeves separated and need to replace radiator ?

What year and how many miles?

What did the oil look like, black, brown or light brown choco shake?

105,000 miles and it is grayish, light brown choco shake in color

Start the car and smell the exhaust, if it smell sweetish it's a blown headgasket, DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR!! I'm guessing it smokes a little too, white/blueish.
Get it fixed ASAP girl, if I lived closer I could have done it for you.

How is the coolant level, do you have you add more coolant often?

After you get this fixed, drive the car for a few miles, then change the oil again. Coolant eat bearings.

There is no water in the crankcase as I changed the oil about 3000 or more awhile ago and I have never changed the coolant in the radiator since I got the car 2 years ago later this month.

Someone had mentioned the possibility of something separated in the radiator allowing some oils in.

Do you have to keep adding coolant to the radiator?
You wont see water in the oil since it will mix with the oil and give it a choco shake look. What does your oil look like right now?


In the radiator you got cooling for the tranny too, so that shouldn't show up in your engine oil.

This could also be rust in the coolant water from not being flushed regurlary.
