Oil sensonr is pissing me off!

I changed my oil a while back and added 6 quarts of mobil one 5000 and every time i park on even the slightest slope the oil light would come on...now it has gotten to where it is always on but every great now and then it goes off...are these bad about going out orm what? I have check the crappy dip stick and the oil is so clean that its hard to tell where it comes to but if you look closely its all the way to max! this thing is really damn annoying..is any one else having these issues?

Ignore it. If you want peace of mind, get an autometer gauge.

It's very common for the sending units to go bad, thats all it is. Go down to ford and get a new one for $10. 6 qts might be a little much btw, make sure you arent overfilling it. Mine is usually happy with 5. Too little is much better than too much.

Yeah I think I will add a 1/2 a q and see what happens ...I am smoking a little if I rev the motor after sitting idle for a couple minutes..someone said somehting about the pcv valve letting to much oil come by and said that steeda makes a kit to catch the oil and corret this..any one have any info on it? as for the light..once it is on it stays on even down the road..every now and then if you park different it goes off tho...

The way the "low oil" indicator works is this. If the warning lamp is turned on, the lamp will remain on until the ignition switch is turned to the off position. After the vehicle is turned off, five minutes need to pass before the oil level sensor takes another reading. If the engine is restarted during this 5 minute period, the last reading will be indicated.
