if you dont mind your stock gauge working then just remove the stock one that is near the oil filter it has one wire going to it, just put the new one and route your wires
if your's is a 1996, you can remove the LOS (low oil sensor) in the enging oil pan, get an adapter and run your oil temp sender into that or tap the oil filter housing if its another year other than a 1996
