OK, Problem with oil pressure.. HELP!!

here the background, never done this before and today i installed subs an battery voltage is severley affected makes gauge drop and battery is in bad shape... but today is first day that when i hit it hard the oil pressure guage drops, you can keep it steady and take to six grand and dosent move but when you hit it it drops instantly, background- 98 cobra 523rwhp supercharged etc... new motor 10k miles or less

Check it with a mechanical gauge to verify. You said you made all kinds of electrical changes to the car and all the sudden your gauge is acting up. Very it with a known good mechanical unit and then move on from there.

The pressure gauge on these cars is one step up from an idiot light. It's either on of off...not a true measure of oil pressure. Since it is dropping off after the install my bet is it is losing power therefore the voltage that registers as oil pressure.

awesome, i was thinking the same thing and was so "scared" with well over 8grand in a motor you get paranoid

You have 8000 into a motor and don't have a mechanical oil pressure gauge ? You might want to rethink that....

I second that. With that kind of investment you need a true pressure gauge.
