While working on my sons 2000 v6. (Had the e ginger and trans out of the car) I pulled the trans pan off to change the gasket and filter..... to my surprise there was a little yellow plastic plunger looking thing just laying there in the bottom of the pan. Does anyone know what the heck it is and where it goes? I looked in the fill hole on an 03 auto parts car and saw the same thing floating in the fliud....... I'm so confused

It's used to plug the hole in the trans before the factory installs the dipstick tube. It falls in the pan during the assembly process. It's garbage.
