Ok to use RTV on upper intake?

I know its suposed to be not good for 02 sensors... But any problem using it for a week untill i order a new one???

In other news i may have found the backfire issue with my car...

Yes it should be fine. But if its not o2 sensor safe you could damage them

Most permatex sealants are "sensor safe" not sure if they really are. But I just need to drive it a block from my grandparents to my parents.

Are you talking about between the upper and lower? Wouldn't buying a peice of roll gasket from the auto parts store and just cutting out you own gasket work?

Id suggest that before using RTV, Im not sure the RTV would seal well and it would be a mess to clean up.

why not just fix it the correct way? intake manifold gaskets are generally pretty cheap.

they aren't cheap or readily available if you're running an aftermarket intake setup.

Cereal box material is great for temporary gaskets. But see if you can find something without the smooth side on it like cereal boxes have.

Eh had a roll of felpro rubber/fiber gasket material at the garage. About 30 minutes later I had a gasket.

On an application such as that

I'd just use the gasket without all that messy stuff
