Okay—Friggin cup holders.

Especially interior parts for your '85. (EDIT: '83)
You could make something that wraps around the top of the arm rest.

I just designed one for you. I can see it now.
Go to Dollar Tree.
Get small plastic wash basin.
Turn it upside down.
Make cutouts for the armrest so the bottom of the basin sits above it.
Then cut some round holes in the bottom.
You now have a removable cup holder.
Cost = $1

I'm trying to repair the latch on my arm rest so it's been on my mind for the past 2 days.

Guess it would be better than driving around with the armrest lid open all the time :)

You have a couple of options:

Build your own into the center console

Get an armrest cup holder (I've seen these with one and two slots):

Or make something that follows the curve of the transmission tunnel on the passenger side.

@LAFF this one Noobz posted is direct replacement for your lid. Not the best looking piece..... but a pretty simple fix.

Correct. Those are for 79-86 interiors.

Thought I deleted that first part I wrote. Fixd my original post.

Anyway..... they should have made this in the “footprint” of the original lid, instead of extending it over.

Might be time for some MDF, a router, and some black vinyl, for my interior (cause I don’t have enough unfinished loose ends on this car)

Not bad for $11.49.
Keep searching & can find it for $5.

Here's a thinner one which might fit better. Only 1 12oz can

I bought 2 different types.
Total cost for both with free shipping, $11.78
The smaller one was 2X the price of the larger one, because it's being shipped from Chinese warehouses in CA.

Put this small one on the driver's side.

I actually did that when the laptop tray was mounted to the inside of the arm rest.
See the little armrest latch under the laptop? This broke off & just finished repairing it. Good thing I kept the broken part. Took 2 attempts at reinforcement with a metal backing plate.
The inside used to be for audio cassettes, now just for fuses & small tools.

What is with all these full size PC being installed! Jeez... I tune ms all the time and have an easier solution that will datalog automatically and load /download your entire project folder to a cloud account anytime your near a wifi source the ECU is connected to. You can even log into it at anytime remotely (if it has I internet) or simply plug in a screen we can provide. Full time pc in the car and it fits anywhere.

Have you ever used a 10" Windows tablet? It was my UI to MS until it died. It was too small to see clearly & difficult to modify settings. The wifi "cloud" doesn't do you any good if you're driving down the road & does nothing for providing real-time information. Also, wifi maximum range is 100m (300ft).
I already had a larger laptop, so wanted to see if it would work & it does. From a size standpoint, a 12" tablet would be better.

The only one I see on BestBuy is this one for $160. The one I made cost $10 & has a light on the underside.
