Okay one more gauge question

Is there any problem using the stock sender locations for a gauge install. Is it better to tap someplace else. If tapping someplace other than the stock sender location the stock gauges will still be functional.

If installing new gauges (Im doing water temp and oil pressure) would you still want the sock gauges to work, is it neccesary?
