well i took the dash out today well not really i cant figure out whats still holding it on the drivers side so its almost out. So i look under there and theres an old alarm that doesnt even look hooked up rite and when i look at it its just a nightmare. Im scared to try and take it out because im not sure if i can find everything that it originally would connect to. The reason im taking the dash is out to install an alarm. Anyone have any wiring diagrams or anything to help me? Im gonna look it over tomorrow again and decide if i can see whats what.

Most alarm wires splice into existing wires - they are not in series (starter interlock and power locks are exceptions).

You might be able to save some work if that alarm has a wire chart on its body. You can quickly test and reuse existing wires on your new alarm.

People will need to know the year of your car in order to help with wiring diagrams.

Good luck.

Did you get an install sheet with the alarm (telling you wire colors and locations to use for your 88)? Is that what you are desiring?

And with removing the old harness, I just take it a wire/connection at a time. Like I said, if the wire from the alarm harness "Tee's" into an OEM wire, one can remove the alarm wire with no issues. If you see a cut wire and alarm wires in series (like is the case with most starter kills) then you want to reconnect the wire (or immediately install your starter kill relay on your new alarm. most alarms have the relay installed passively so you dont need the alarm to work to start the car - you need the alarm to work to have the starter disable actually disable the car).

Good luck.
