Try to get it right and bypass it with a red-guarded switch if it pisses you off.

Ignition [On]
Red Guarded Switch [Raised]
Momentary Switch [Pressed]
Ignition Switch [Start]

VROOOOOOOM!

Red Guarded Switch [Closed]

It would be very Mad Max

I'm too lazy to go digging through the mess we had to deal with when they left our house. We had to [rake] the carpet throughout the house before could vacuum them clean enough to get ripped out and replaced.

Tell them I said "Hi"

Growing up, my family always had a Ford. I remember several occasions my old man banging on that solenoid with his Zippo lighter while someone else worked the key...

Pete , pull the Connector off the clutch switch, put a fuse into the wire connection and see if it works then you know to buy a new switch.
Next check the ignition switch on the colunm, replace if it looks loose.
Both are inexpensive and they do wear out,I've replaced both .

My ignition stuff is all new top to bottom exept for the clutch switch....Thats the thing with these cars is eventually every thing needs to be replaced no matter how small. I bought a new Motorcraft solenoid and of coarse that wasnt it so it goes in the good parts pile. Tomorrow Im taking this car out for a nice ride. Hopefully we do a round trip. I gotta get AAA

And that's exactly what the government wants. They want us to rely on them. For instance, free healthcare, student loan forgiveness, free money to buy houses, etc. Rely=control. Hopefully we can break that cycle this November.

Yeah, politics......an old Ford problem
I say just 'bang' on it a little harder, rarely fixes anything but it sure feels good.
Ford solenoid (almost) never fail.
