Hello..just another life long Ford guy here............I had been building bolt on braces for MN - 12 cars. The discussion of rear shock braces caught my eye. I will buy a brace and modify it in a way it can be BOTH bolted in place for a strong attachment and use the shock bolt as well for ease of installation. I'm thinking that even one 3/8" grade bolt per side should provide a good alternative.

the current rear shock braces rely on the shock bolt........that in my view is a stupid idea. My MN -12 braces use 4 - 3/8" grade eight bolts. I plan to buy the currently available mustang brace and modify it....to include a 3/8" grade eight bolt on each side to mount it in a much more secure position and include the shock bolt as a means to center the brace.

You're in the 'welcome wagon' of a mustang site, go to the 'other auto tech' forum and describe what your building and why, add pics for clarity.
