1999 GT dropped valve at 95K miles with automatic trans, never over reved:


Look how thin the cylinder walls are:


new parts, hope to install k-member tomorrow, will show pics:


My 99 GT:


04 Crown Vic motor totaled cop car 9K miles $1600 with the 99GT trans installed:

Wow, that kicks ass man... tubular's FTW!

Might I ask why the front suspension rides so freaking high in that one pic though?

EDIT: Ahh, it might be the lack of engine/trans in the car.... answered my own question

No, that's how all New Edge GTs come from the factory.

I'm thinking that engine failure didn't sound real good when it happened...

what exactly caused the cylinder walls to look like that? lack of maintanence or just unlucky?

Look at the deck of the block how rusty it is.
That block has been exposed to the elements so what you see is not indicative of how it looked when it was opened up.
It's merely to show you the damage a dropped valve can create.

ahh... got ya, thanks. i didnt think about how long that was probably sitting out there.

one last question... whats the most likely cause of the dropped valve?

Probably a broken spring and/or valve retainer.
