You need to stay dry, stay warm, stay hydrated, and stay fed in that order. Since shelter cannot fit in a backpack, you will need a campfire axe, warm blankets, and a firestarter. Also you need water sanitization (pills/laser/pump), and some way of carrying water. Also need the means of either carrying dehydrated food or hunting you're own. Other things that can be easily stored are fishing line, hooks, string, plastic bag, duct tape, etc...

Remember you can go
4 hours in extreme weather
4 days without water
30 days without food

I love that glock. I want one... how's the recoil on it? I want something accurate that wont break my wrist when I put a clip through it.

My wife can shoot it without discomfort. She is fairly small. 5'3" and 120lbs.
She enjoyed shooting it, and was fairly accurate with it.

Just saw your reply.

The only true weapon I carry is my handgun. The pocket knife is just about 100% utility.
Like I mentioned earlier, the pepper spray is the bridge between lethal and non lethal.

fwiw, I work in a hospital. Dealing with the bottom 1% of the society. I also live in a smaller town.
Whenever I go to the grocery store. I have the pleasure of running into the tweaker I saw the day before.
I usually get threatened once a week. I have been told that my family is going to be killed, etc.
Most of the time, the person saying that is either high, drunk, or mid psychosis. So they forget by the time I see them again.

I only carry the flashlight during the winter. I go to work when its dark and get off work when its dark. It kind of makes sense to have a bit of light.

Wow, forgot about this thread. Glad I saw it, I gotta start building a bob also.

Seeing Monkey's pic made me wish I would have gone w/ a G19 also. I daily carry a G26 and wish I woulda stepped it up a bit. A little on the smallish side, even w/ the mag extension. It'll do the job though.......

I have never been able to get my hands to fit around the sub compact glocks. I can manage 2.5 finger son the grip. The G19 is the perfect in between. The entire pistol can fit in the palm of my hand. But its comfortable to shoot.

You must be one of the worlds most tolerant man, when comes to my family all black clothing and some night time stalking would put an end to that threat.

Understand. I'm 5'8" and about 150 nothing. It fits ok w/ the pinky extension and I do like it, just wish at times I woulda went w/ the G19.

Oh well, guess there is an excuse to go get one then......

FWIW, my daily carry:

I saw the original post date & didn't read the rest. So, are you talking about a bug out bag, or an actual carry on bag, like to go on a plane?

The yak is used as a melee weapon, it's a lot heavier than it looks. The rest are self explanatory.

It really depends on the size of the bag that you intend on taking. Mine is of decent size so I'd have: handheld propane tank, matches, some canned food, other food, water, change of clothes, blanket, sleeping bag, knife, ammo. Assuming I'd be on foot too, I'd have my AR on my back & a .45 on my hip (prolly another in the bag if there was enough room too), with several back up mags for all.
