Can anyone tell me what wires I have to connect to convert a stock '88 Mustang internally regulated alternator to a one-wire alternator?
I am using it in a 1985 Mustang GT SCCA American Sedan Class road course racer that I am "restoring" for club meets at northeast road courses. The car had an alternator that was externally regulated.
I am using a lot of "donor" parts from an '88 Mustang GT. The good alternator and new alternator connectors (with wiring pigtails) are from the donor. I cut them out of the wiring harness in the car.
The large connector has 2 large gauge black/red striped wires that are spliced into one wire farther down the "pigtail, a smaller gauge white/black striped wire that goes to the smaller connector.
The small connector has a solid yellow wire, the previously mentioned white/black striped wire and a green wire.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
