Only tweeters are working..?

I just installed my new head unit (Pioneer Premier P5800MP) with the additional wiring harnesses that connect right to the Ford connectors.. Only problem is, it only plays out of my Mach 460 tweeters... No rear or door speakers.. What did I do wrong? I'm new to audio

Check and see what the High Pass Crossover is set at on the deck. You could be cutting the lower frequencies out of the deck before it hits the speakers.

I'm not sure on a pioneer head unit, as I don't have one. But that unit does have a high and low pass filters. It's going to be a crossover setting. You should have one that is LPF, which will affect the sub output. This one should not matter if you don't have a sub and will not affect your regular speakers. And then there would be another setting for the front and rear speakers, which is the high pass filter. This is the output for your regular speakers. It should be able to be set something like: off, 80hz, 160hz, 225hz. These aren't exact values but just an idea of what the various settings might be around. Make sure it is off. Otherwise you may be limiting the frequencies those speakers should get before they get to the amps.

I highly doubt it's a crossover issue. It sounds like a wiring problem. I would double check all my connections and verify that I have the right wiring harness to work with the factory amp.

I know at a minimum that it's not going through the Factory amp under the dash now... I unplugged all 3 connections to that amp, and it sounds exactly the same....

Sounds like a wiring problem to me. When I got my new radio, only my front right and back left speakers worked, but I respliced all the wires and they worked.

Well, it's a wiring issue, yes, but not that type.. It's because of the stupid complicated Mach 460 Ford put in there..

I dont have the Mach. lol
But I do have a factory amp.

The amp under the radio is just for the 4 tweeters. There are 2 amps under the rear mach enclosure that drive the 5x7's. You must be feeding only the front amp (somehow). Check out this webpage-

why not ditch that system completely? when i changed my head unit i changed all the speakers as well and put an alpine amp in the trunk. the amp in the trunk is for the 4 speakers in the rear and the deck is for the 4 speakers in the front. very straightforward, and it sheds the weight of the mach 460 components. then i sold all the mach 460 amps, both mach head units, and the wiring harness.

If you used the metra harness check and make sure you didn't push the pins out on the speaker harness. They do that sometimes.

Top circle: Old connectors. Bottom circle, new connection

Ignore wires on left, I have a switch panel where the old CD player was.

I think you may have the prob!.... I have a blue/white wire coming out of the head unit, it's labeled "System remote control" and it's not connected to anything. Could you specify exactly where I'm supposed to connect this wire?

If this fixed it, I'd be .. less mad @ my car

It was fully connected when I first powered up and experienced this problem. I disconnected it to see if it changed matters, and It's disconnected as of right now.
