If you mess w the fuel rails on your Mustang double check that the hard plastic fuel lines on the ends of the fuel rails are not leaking..also double check the lines form the body to the rails...The plastic of these hoses is getting old and brittle enough to be a concern. My car recently caught fire because of this issue. Luckily It was in the garage after just being worked on and I was to get it out before much damage was done.

Glad you got it out quick !
Last year I had a small fuel line leak that I was able to smell before I ever fired the car up. Turned out to be
the front crossover line, I widened the stock rail for my 393w and used rubber EFI line w/EFI clamps. I have since replaced all
the clamps with a better version.
After that near disaster I started carrying an extinguisher in my car , I would recommend anyone playing around with cars of
this age do the same.

Yes I plan to buy an extinguisher for the garage and car. If fuel runs down the back of the engine, when you hit the starter to start it, that spark will light it off. The only noteworthy casualties to my fire were the TPS wires and the clutch cable.

I had a fire recently due to welding near a fuel line. Luckily, there was no damage because I had a fire extinguisher close by. I went out and bought numerous fire extinguishers for the garage/house the next day! I think I’ll look into getting one for the car now.

Good point. Does anyone sell new plastic lines for both ends of the fuel rail? Mine are looking pretty iffy!

I don't know about those hoses, but for rail <-> body, I picked up a kit from Ted Jenkins. The 94/95 body side fittings were hard to come by for a bit, but he has them.
