I can give a rats ass about my paint. so I just fling it on the roof or whatever. If you car is remotely nice looking and you pop the hood a lot it's a pain by yourself if you gotta worry about scratching paint. Save an extra $75 and buy a bolt on.

My 91 GT has a 2 1/2" Harwood cowl hood, totally unimpressive. They make great hoods for 1st gen Camaro's, but that's about it. Cervini's has lift off versions of their hoods I believe. You should check them out.

If you get a lift off... You can tape foam blocks under it, so you can put the hood on top of the car, without sctaching the paint.

I've been taking my stock hood off for a few months now, to work on it... And it is rather lite.. I don't see a problem using the lift off.
