Opinions on this Buy

That car is worth $10-11k, maybe $12-13k at the most.

Is it being sold by a dealer or private party?

Who installed all those mods?

Who tuned it?

You need to know the answers to my questions before you even consider buying it...

1. Its being sold by a Mustang Specialist Group here in florida

2. The mods were installed by Lamotta Performance

3. Lamotta Performance

I figured with it booking at 13 and adding 5k for the transmission and motor it was somewhat a decent price.. no?

here are a couple pictures of the car:

A highly modified Mustang is difficult to appraise and is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay. The prices I gave you are fair and reasonable for a highly modified Mustang such as this one. However, if the mods were installed professionally and you really like the car, you will have to decide what you will pay.

I would start the negotiations at $13k and not move from that number for at least a week.

The retail cost of the motor and trans does not matter AT ALL. The only thing that matters is what the fair market value of the car is.

In general mods REDUCE the value. At best if they are mods that are not cheesy and are installed professionally, then it is a wash.

Mods NEVER EVER ADD VALUE PERIOD. Unless you have money to burn of course...

you'll never buy a modified car listening to killy.

he has some knowledge, but on this he just seems to be way off center.

check Ebay, these cars sell for the 20k range with those mods all day there. they are not gonna come down 8k for you because its modified LOL.:rlaugh:

offer them 17k and see how it goes.

Kilgore, I understand where your coming from. This dealership/autogroup which ever you would like to call it, it ran by two guys. My uncle has bought many cars from them. Their are not there to scam you like CarMax or any other larged used car dealership. They were very very straight foward with me on the car and the numbers for my car. I talked to him about negoiating on the price but he said with what your trading in I cant lower the price of this one.

I checked on ebay like Steeda said and he does seem correct. Every supercharged mustang besides the 03/04s are going for right around 20-22.I do understand what you mean about negoiating, ive done that before at normal dealers. This specific dealer is very open, they have about 15 cars on their lot. Its pretty much a family owned Mustang Autogroup.

Who cares what they have in it? That is their f'n problem

I still say lowball the piss out of them and hold for a week.

Good luck with your deal, it is a nice looking car.

Exactly SS03!

01Steeda just wants the car to be worth more because he does not want to face the fact that HIS OWN heavily modified car has lost a lot of value due to similar mods. Its human nature to feel this way...
