Here's a couple pics of my torch red GT with silver Shelby stripes. I did'nt like the cars I've seen with the stripes all the way down so I decided to halt them at the top of the trunk and then black out the space between the taillights. I'm not really sure if I like it or not. What do you guys think?

Personally, if it were my car I would put the stripes all the way down the back of the car. It just looks like something is missing.

I like it a lot. Can we geta pic of the front and top?

Just a quick thought and, again, since it is just a personal preference, I mean no disrespect or want you to think the stripes do not look VERY GOOD!....... If the door sill Mustang stripes are white, I would, personally, consider removing them. It would give the overall apperance a more solid and cohesive look.

Just my opinion. I would never tell someone how to dress or how to style their hair...so, again, it is just a respectful suggestion.

I like the silver stripes a lot! I don't think it looks like it is missing something since the stripes are chamfered and rounded off at the back. If it was a block cut it would look truncated, but it's very sporty and appealing.

I think they look great. How did you blackout the rear area between the lights? Is that a panel or painted and if it's a panel, where did you get it?

I think the stripes look hot - do you have any pics of the hood?

That is really nice. I was thinking of doing the same thing to my Redfire except I dont want the roof stripes. On the hood did you round off the stripe corners or run them all the way to the edge of the hood?

Where did you get the stripes at?

Scott, would you recommend the stripes/website? How much did it cost to have them installed? I really waant stripes too, but having them painted on is just out of my budget.

I would defintely recommend Graphics Express. There decal products are top quality in my opinion. I had a local guy who does aftermarket work for a lot of the dealers in my area apply all the decals. He charged me $100 to apply all decals...

The blackout panel is vinyl. I got it on ebay, roughly $20. Here's some more pics. These have been posted before. I'm really torn between going all the way down with the stripes or leaving it the way it is. It's got kind of a cross between a '67 shelby and a'69 mach 1 thing going, which I like. And I really, really don't like the stripes I've seen going all the way down the back. I think it makes the rear look taller and more narrow. Then again, I agree it looks kind of unfinished as it is.

Looks very good, for opinions I guess I would have gone with black stripes, and yeah that might be overdone, but it is a good combination...

I would also go the stripes all the way down, especially since you did all the way down on the front like that...

But looks really nice...

That looks pretty sweet. I am considering doing some silver stripes on my black GT. Is there any real downside to doing vinyl instead of paint? I definately like the idea of vinyl since it's cheaper and of course if you end up not liking it, you can take it off a lot more easily. From what I hear, the paint doesn't even really look better than the vinyl.

In my opinon, as long as the vinyl is done properly is looks pretty good. I've seen some disasters on some posts before the server crash that look pretty bad. If you don't watch what you are doing, you are guaranteed to have some pretty bad bubbles and some lifting. I just couldn't convince myself to spend the money on the paint job.

Hello I've been typing into cyber-nowhere to find info on the blackout panel look on the tail between the rear lights. I've seen the decals on ebay, there's carbon inserts, and there's always painting it... Is the panel on yours a vinyl decal? What does the decal do to the paint in the long run? I've seen what a bra can do to the paint if left on too long. I'm considering getting it painted on permanently, but if the decal doesn't kill the paint... it IS a lot cheaper...
Thanks! -April

I live in Wisconsin and I can't find a friggin' soul to put on my vinyl stripes. My dealer even said that they wouldn't do it!

Try places that tint windows. The process is close to the same. My local tint shop installed the blackout panel.

Yes, it's a vinyl decal. I got it on ebay so it's probably the same one you saw there. The only problem I've had with the vinyl stripes is they're prone to rock "chips" on the front. I wonder if that's why Ford didn't put them all the way down the front? Warrenty issues would have cost them a fortune.
