Optima Batteries??

Optima bats are deffinitely worth every penny.. Yea don't go choosing the bat from the color of the top.. The red top is perfect for any car, but if you have a bunch of electrical componets (like gauges and a system with amps, speakers and what not) get the yellow top.

I bought a yellow top Optima from Summit back in 99 or 00, and it's still functioning perfectly. (my car has been stored outside during the winters, battery in it) I left my electric fans on one time, and when I came back out, the battery had been drained so it wouldnt start the car. I let it sit about 15 mins, and it recovered enough juice to start the car.

that red is tough too, I've had 10 speakers and 5 amps running off that batter for two years, and it's still running precious with no alternator issues. I don't know all the math on that, but i killed two batteries really quick before the Optima

The blue top is a good cranking battery.
If your not runnig really high compresion or not alot of electronincs the red is great.
If you want to be safe go yellow.
If you want to be cheap (i'm not saying too) go buy a big marine battery.

Do they come in different sizes? I was looking at a spiral type of battery called an orbital. Same type as a optima but different name. They only come in one size and I do not think it will fit. I am thinking it will be too tall. Does anyone know how tall we can go?

how much compression you have has nothing at all to do with what battery your running. all red tops are the same size..same as the yellow and blue tops........if i was you....i'd go with the red top. be perfect for your needs.
