I have a 9 year old DieHard that dates back to my '67 Dodge. Never stored it indoors, never took care of it and it still works great. They unfortunately were purchased by ?Exide? I believe.

)Just curious but you guys who've had charging problems with the Red tops, are you using stock alternators? (be honest)
that's one legendary mullet right there.

Yellow tops are great for high draw applications like serious stereo's. They cost a little more but will hold a charge longer when compared to the red top. I run several red tops and havn't had a problem with them other than when I left my dome light on for a month. Gel cells in general don't recover like a lead acid. As long as you don't discharge them too far like under 9 or 10 volts they will be just fine.

Since the Sears Auto Centres no longer exist I don't know what became of the DieHard.
They sure do still exist - we have the Auto Centers here.......not that I would ever go to one.
