Like it says, I ordered it! "Gonna Have A 6-Speed In My Gts!" What do ya guys think? Out of curiosity, why do I need to get a new clutch disk? I just got my AFM "Super" King Cobra clutch and AFM Alum Flywheel, will these parts work? Don Walsh said they would but I truly have no idea. All I know is that i broke my T-5 trying for 12's and I needed a new one, I was so mad about it breaking I just went all out. Wont happen again...

Sweet, I was gonna ask a local buddy to take my Tremec 3550, and my Cobra Tranny, and a few other parts plus some cash in trade for a T56. Let me know how you like it. I'm Very interested in seeing how it turns out. (Noise, Ect.)

The Viper Spec T56 uses a 26spline input shaft, which requires a 26spline clutch disc. The disc you bought for your T5 is a 10spline input. You need to get a 26spline disc.

Nice choice on a 6spd, the Ford T56 is really nice, I had one for a long time. I didn't get the Viper Spec b/c of the gearing....good luck with it. I can tell ya this much, the first gear is a 2.67 (as compared to your 3.35 first gear in your T5)....first will last forever.

My friend has a Viper T-56 on his 98 Cobra. First gear is long, but we thought it was a 2.95 first. Whats the over drive on the ford one? He got a lot of gas milage from the .5 in the Viper one.

as far as I know it uses the same gearing as the trannsmissions in the Viper, and Vipers hit the limiter in first gear @ 60mph!!!!...also the Viper guys have found that the T56 doesnt become the weak link till their cars are making 750+rwhp!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys. It cost me a bit more than $3k to get the whole thing w/ conversion kit. its too bad i have to get a new clutch disk and drive shaft... neither of those parts have 200 miles on them. if anyone is interested in a new ford racing aluminum drive shaft ill sell it for what i paid for it, $160 plus shipping. i got it from summit and if you are looking to get one of these, you may have noticed that summit sells them for like $240 now. I got these parts right before my t-5 went.

oh and install sounded very labor friendly. from what i have heard, only a few holes have to be drilled and then everything is a piece of cake. i cant wait for my drive to college. 606 miles from boston to the pittsburgh area, you can bet that i will be calculating my gas milage.

by the way, are any of you guys using a tweecer? i want to get one due to its capabilities and low cost, but i am worried about accuratly tuning my own car. can anyone please offer me some suggestions to get a proper tune on my FRPP 302 w/ gt 40X heads, e-cam, track heat intake, 65mm tb, pro m-80, march pulleys, 24lbs, full exhaust and more.... she stalls at stops all the time unless i open the throttle body a bit while slowing down to a stop. i have heard many times that my computer in my 1995 gts hates aftermarket cams, especially agressive ones, and that a tweecer would fix my problem. anyone want to back me up on this one and/or offer me some aid with understanding what i could realisticly do with a tweecer and my lap top to better tune my car.

thanks in advance

Even a Ford T56 can handle over 700 rwhp... :)
