Ok steeda sells gears for 189 which isnt the best price but I do buy alot of stuff from them and had nothing but good times. The guy at steeda told me I would have to have my computer flashed. But they sell a Recalibration Box for 100 bucks. Would that be able to fix my problem???? The guy also said install and computer flash would probably be around 250 bucks and the gears cost 189 so I am guessing 500 for the whole thing which isnt too bad for the amount of fun everyone says they are. I have been searching around and I cant really find out what needs to be done after the gear install to make sure everything runs fine. Thanks for any info

With a 5 Speed, you don't need the flash. The box you're referring to is the SpeedCal. Still, if you can get everything done for $500 like you think, I say go for it.

the speed cal will correct your speed o the flash is more expensive. People usually charge around $200 or $300 for labor alone on a gear install. I have an 03 and I just ordered the speed cal from dallas mustang.

What about the cost of labor to have them installed?

from what i understand, a flash or speed-cal both fix your speed - assuming you have a 5spd. Both seem about the same price. I always thought a flash would be better if you had someone in your area to do it.

Is this what your talking about?

http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/NAcalibration.htm

If it is the entire point is to get a reflash. Do you live in South Florida? If so shop around alot of places can do it for less.

how much was the speed cal from dallas, steedas is 100 like a said it says on sale from 295 (that is a huge discount)

but my dads friends has done a 100 reends for lots of people so I figure if i can get him to do the install and i pay 189 for the gears and the spedo for 100 i am at 300 and i throw the guy alil for the help and i am set. Is this reasonable

speed cal is $89 . To get your computer flashed will be more than $89 . also dealers cant flash computer to fix speed o you would have to go to a performance shop.

maybe $10 shipping. No biggie.

back to the question I would go with the speedcal if it works for your car. call dallas mustang 1-800-mustang they can help you. Im pretty sure a speedcal will work for you and its cheap compaired to a flash to your computer.

so the speed cal is $89 from dallas mustang
and the computer flash is $100
diff of $11

wouldnt the flash be a better decision because its electronic? the speed cal is a mechanical part that, in time, is subject to failure. correct???

if it is only 11 dollar difference and both would work. the only reson i see not going with the flash is that you can just buy the spedo the flash you have to find someone that knows what they are doing and bring your car to them.
But i guess you guys are right 139 shiped is not a bad price. If i am able to do this install myslef this might not turn out to much in the end.

Got my motives (stronger than frpp) for 125 with free shipping and all got sent very quickly. Pete over there is a great guy. I would recommend buying the gears from them. They have frpp too if thats what you really want but my motives are awesome.
