Which is saying what exactly?
I don't mean to bash the new vette, well, *ahem*

maybe i am, but i've seen two in person and I will say this:
The car looks mean and tough as ever while parked beside a building.
But when tha car is in motion, ie: passing by you or driving etc...
that whole menacing feeling floats away.

Their tail lights are by far the worst thing i've ever seen.
And I don't care what you say, they're similar yet different than my favourite 2004 z06 model.
their lights are like neon man! Neon tail lights... and they're so high up, whereas the older 2000 models, they spaced out that large ass end of theirs.

I give the new 2006

if i wanted a ferrari front end...
i'd buy one

Well, I donno what the performance numbers are on the '06 Z06, but for a car that costs just under 40K to have the performance that the base model has, it's alright in my book. Personally, I'm really looking forward to see what the Z06 will be able to do. The front end does look more like a viper than a vette, but personally, I think that they did a pretty good overall job modernizing the traditional vette design cues.

Chevy sure upped the stakes with the zo6 if it does in fact have that 500hp+ 7.0. I test drove a regular c6 and was not too impressed, considering the car makes 400hp. But wow that zo6 will be bad ass. I'm no chevy fan, but you have to call 'em like you see 'em. Wonder what that thing will cost? ouch.

Gotta give credit where credit is due.....and its due on this new vette. That thing is BAD! 400hp base model? 500+Z06? SVT and Ford better come with something big and bad for the 06/07 Cobra for whenever that comes out in the new body.

I wish GM would have put some of this great thinking into their Camaro/trans am line up. Cut one of them or both, and redesign them to sale better. GM never skimps out on their power capability as of lately in their cars. I still gotta pick up a 02 Trans-am WS6 6-speed, t-tops, black, black leather.....not until i graduate in 2.5 years from college

Anyway, back on track, that new vette is sweet looking. It doesn't matter what the Z06 or other model looks like while in motion....cause most of us wont be able to stay next to it long enough to be able to tell Although we spent like 1/8th the money....

I thnk Ford may be too busy bustin Fararrii(sp?) nuts with the GT to realy give a damn..................

I hope the SVT brand will live on, as they have been realy cutting back on the production times and what not as of late.

The new vette looks good and has all the power, but I heard that ford is gonna up the new stang in '06 to blow all the new hemi engines away. I think ford is gonna do their thing and make the new stang bad ass.

I actually read through the entire post on the new vette. I'd say about 50% of the posts included some sort of degredation of the mustang, including a post that said the new cobras had to cheat with the blower.

People like that really bother me. I guess I just have a hard time understanding that sort of mentality since I love cars, no matter what brand name they have. I guess people are just so blinded by brand loyalty they can't see what the cars really have to offer.

I did have to laugh at the few posts that said the new Z06 would destroy a 911 turbo.

I like it although it looks a hell of alot like a S2000 honda up front. I also give chevy props for staying in the game. The vette helps get rid of that bad taste from the bland ass GTO.which GM should have never called it, it should just have been the new camaro then maybe people wouldn't have been so disappointed with the GTO.

You zo6 haters are just jealous

The new c6 (should impress people)...it traps around 113mph and the reason why people aren't "impressed" with that is because it is such a smooth powerband you can easily get deceived on how quick the trees fly by...compared to others...

I would say my car almost feels faster than my buddies 03 zo6 but in reality we all know that isn't the case

Don't go by SOTP but by TRACK...

The new C6's (or any other recent vette like a C5) aren't meant just for power...also for comfort for those in mid-life crisis...people sometimes get the "sloppiness in the steering wheel" as just that "sloppy" but it reality it is for comfort of driveability Got me?

The 06 zo6 will turn out to be a nice ride once all that "tape" is torn off of it...remember guys that is spy shots not what it looks like rolling off the assembly line...

Although I'd never own one, I can say that I do appreciate what the Corvette does. I mean, besides the Viper (which kind of doesn't count, only because it's like twice the price of the Vette) the Corvette is technically the only "American Sports Car" out there. I'm a 110% Ford guy, I mean Ford everything no doubt. I hate GM I think they suck. That's just me. There are tons of GM guys saying the same stuff about Ford. Whatever. Anyway the point is that I can see the good in this for us (as Ford/Mustang people). I hope the new Z06 does have 500hp or more, I hope it does have 335 or so wide tries, not because I give two $h*ts about it or GM, but because if it does, you know darn well that John Coletti and Ford won't take that lying down.

Perfect example - seen those new Dodge commericals with the SRT/10 truck? Stating how it's "The Worlds Fastest Production Truck." Yes, I believe they're right - but not for long. If the next Lightning is anything CLOSE to what it's speculated to be, then the SRT/10 is gonna be the one getting IT'S doors blown off. So same with the Cobra/Shelby or whatever it ends up being called. No doubt in my mind that if the Z06 has ~500hp then the Cobra will come very close to not only that number, but also overall performance. Most of us have probably either read reviews of the new 05 Mustangs, or have driven them personally, and we know they handle worlds better than previous Mustangs. That, coupled with a big dose of blue oval power = absolutely GREAT things!

I still kinda wish Ford had priced the Ford GT in the price range to compete with the Vette, but I understand why that couldn't happen. But I expect the new Cobra, which, I personally expect to be a Shelby, will be an instant legend. Remember how everyone was amazed at the 03 Cobras 390hp when they first came out? Well, those were somewhat "rushed together" as far as deciding to add a blower... well... SVT's gonna have a good year or so off to plan, test, design... and wait patiently as the Z06 comes out. Yep, bring it on GM. We'll be there™

Ok Mr. Ford Lover, dont get your hopes up. Lightning production has been delayed a few years, the Cobra concept will not be made and the 03 cobras werent "rushed" together. Thats one of the greatest production engines built. Personally I still think the z06 wll probably still be able to kill the new gen cobra. I hate people with your mindset, just because it has a blue emblem doesnt mean its god-like. Id take a Chevy/Dodge/whatever as long as its well built and has the performance. Sorry to bust your chops and I dont care if I have spelling mistakes.
