Some of you have posted some really sharp pictures of your cars and such with digital cameras. Im just looking for some recommendations on some not so expensive digital cameras out there. What kind of specs shuold i look for? I have a buddy who works at best buy so i could use his discount.

Let me know
Thanks

I guess this won't be much help b/c its $1500, but I just bought a Nikon D70 kit and its pretty f***ing sweet. But I am also fairly serious about photography. I would recommend a Nikon or Canon, one of the cheaper ones, I'm not terribly fond of the Sony digital stuff, just because of the interface controls. PM me if you want some more info.

O MAN, I love that camera- if only I had $$$, one day...

anyways, I posted up about this a little bit ago and there was also some discussion about how to take the actual picure. You could just go to dpreview.com and sidebyside compare red94fiveo's camera and get as many features to be similar

Fuji makes some nice ones with realy nice features. for Making prints you want at least 4.0 megapixles 5 would be best for standard sized 4x6 photos. for internet posting 3 megapixals looks pretty sharp and 4 looks great. 5 fogedabadit just plain awesome. try to match the camera up with what you plan to do with it.

Yeah that was my thread. I ended up taking my picutres with a 35mm camera and I am getting them put to CD. I will see how they turn out. I like 35mm becuase they can take alot better picutres. In the next week or so I am going to go buy a SLR camera. Like said above get a canon or nikon. I am buying a N75 and I am going to buy a 100-300 lens for it. I can't wait.

the canon a70, a75, and a80 are great cameras by reviews and personal experience

dustin:It's true that the 35mm cameras are better quality in the prints but unless the developer can put them on a disk with the same quality, a digital slr with 6+ mp is going to trounce it simply because you can do so much more with a digital image. But i still like old school photography too

Yeah I know what you mean. This is first time I am trying this. I hope it works out. I took all the film to a photo shop to get developed. It was pricey but I hoping for the best quality. I also used a new film so I will see how that turned out as well. If I had the money I think I might buy one of those 8+ mp digital SLR cameras.

Well I bought an expensive one awhile back and it broke. So I've learned that buying expensive means expensive replacement. However my current 3.3 pixel camera from Vivatar cost me a whopping $74 (Day after Thanksgiving sale). It also records 1 minute movies.

I just ordered my Nikion N75 35mm camera and I bought two lens, 28-80 and 70-300mm lens . Now on Monday I am going to go buy a digital camera. I basically want one just to take snap shots of things and use the video part of it. Does anyone know if the Konica Minolta S414 camera is any good or the FinePix A330?

Alright thanks. Yeah that 70-300 lens is massive. I will be able to get some nice far away shots. I can't wait to get it. Got to love ebay.
