I feel sorry for the poor salesman. He was a dumbass though for letting them drive it. Plus he didn't seem to know a lot about the car, he said it was a 5-speed...

That dude fits the term "test pilot" to a tee... although I used to go grab Z/28s of the lots and beat em up pretty decent..
Once I took a brand new 96 Tangerine 4.6 and pretty much did the same thing....They seen my car and pretty much just threw me the keys thinking i was trading....Wrong....
the guys a complete moron. I've been a car salesman before, and as a salesman, you're job is to make sure the guy likes the car. Without the license is a bit sketchy, but letting a person drive it is completely allowed..that's why they have insurance on these cars. Either way, i hope that guy did go back and buy the car

I have been to dealerships before that did not allow test drives on SVT and Saleen vehicles. And they weren't lying because the mileage on their vehicles was virtually zero. Myself and many other people will not put down $30,000 plus on a vehicle they call new when it has 100 miles on it.
