OT: Took some motion pics; any tips?

Yea bro, i dont know much about taken good pictures as im trying to figure that out myself.

But one thing i do know is that im liking that bumper a lot. Those first pictures i saw of it i didn't really like, i dont know if it was the angles or what. But i really like these!

Those pics look pretty good taken from the highway. It's really all up to the camera tho, you need the quickest exposure you can get. BTW, that front bumper is badass.

OK picture whores where you at? I know your out there and dying to get em up. Now's your chance. I know for a fact that JR and Paul have some good pics of there cars hopefully they'll get em up for you h0oligan and tell you how they took em and with what exposure.

I am learing how to do all that. I have firgured out to make that look when things are still but I have not tried moving yet. Well I take that back I use moving water and I got it to look badass. What kind of camera are you using. That makes a big difference.

Dont know much about taking pics but I wanted to say I was another person who wasnt a fan of that kit when you first put it on (not like my opinion matters to you but still) but now I can say it has really grown on me. It looks tough and will definitley stand out in a crowd. Nice car! Although IMO an S281 spoiler would set it off!!!

Not always true....

Examples - my g/f took these way back when we first started the club (bad scans) but as you can see the film was TOO fast and the cars look parked.

Here's one I took with my slower, digital camera... I followed or paced the car with the camera to keep it in focus:

It has more to do with the aperture than shutter speed. The aperture will give you those pictures where the car is in focus and the background is is blury.

Yeah I love those. I should take some like that this weekend. If I ever get around to cleaning my car. I don't know how to do that on a digital camera. I have a 35mm SLR camera so I can manually do everything if I want.

it all depends though. What are you going for?

1. (moving car) blurry background but the car looks parked? adjust aperture and focus while using a quick shutter speed
2. (moving car) blurry backround, wheels look like they're moving? focus on the car while pacing with the car using a slow shutter speed
3. (parked car) car is parked but the background u want blurred? manual focus on the car, aperature can play a small role here but focus is key

this is all easiest with a film camera (SLR) or the digital SLRs which are $$$. you can do this with reg digi cams it just takes some playing with

Mine was a point and shoot digital camera. No settings to change.

I held down the button half way for the auto-adjustments for light.... paced his car the whole time. Took the pic, and kept pacing his car til the slow arse camera had saved the image. Worked great.

that's perfect gcomfx.com and goes along with what i said. The aperature was automatically set by the camera while the auto-focus on the camera focused on the stationary object you were pointing at. Also, the shutter speed on "point and shoot digi cams" is usually relatively slow unless you set it.

that wouldn't work for a stationary car which you were trying to make the background blurry.

you also must have held the camera DAMN steady to get the car to turn out sharp at that speed they'd be good pics to see.. hint hint

You may not believe it, but that picture was just meant to be. I was using the LCD screen, not the view finder.... I was also walking forward onto the sidewalk (that's why he's waving) over a curb.

I took it for his avatar originally. Can't even remember when, but it was descent enough in size 1.3megapixel to make a small laminated poster for him to remember his car by. Back in April that car turned into this:

Take some of mine too sometime Dustin. it'd be cool to get some pics of the AZ Stangnet 94-95's. Hooligan, that front bumpers groing on me, it looks hella mean. I'd be scared to race it if I saw it coming up on me.

zoom in more, and slow down the shutter speed. and turn up the apature value just slightly... try anywhere from an F8 to an F5.6... might turn out blurry if you go any lower ( unless your on a super smooth road) Try somthing like a 250-500 Shutter speed, depending on how dark or light it is outside.
