My weed eater with the 17" wheels doesn't like pot holes...

More on my badluck the distributor has discontinued this specific model , I picked up the last one they had. I have the feeling this can happen again.

1-0 for Montreal streets

I'm cruising in the Middle lane on HWY 20 Eastbound , the traffic flow was ( guessing ) 90KMH and right before entering the tunnel I hit this hole .

This kind of sucks...

I don't know how the other guys with 17" or worste 18" wheel on weed eaters like mine deal with all the holes we have here in town...

I never had this kind of problem with my F150 4X4...

Lucky you didn't loose the entire car in a pot hole, which could happen in Montreal... What a city to drive in, I talk BS about SUV's but in Montreal with all the holes, stupid pedestrians, taxi drivers, flooded streets, etc... You need a real Hummer to survive!

I sent a email last night to ministere des transports and beleive it or not they gave me a call this morning , sent me a confirmation of my email and foward it to another departement.

I was very surprise and I may get some kind of support from them , I asked politly for a partial or total refund .

I'd hang onto the old one and try to have it fixed if I were you. It wouldn't hurt to have a spare. I crunched one of my Centerlines a couple of years ago just as badly (hit a curb ) and was able to fix it.

Mine looked a lot like a fortune cookie and they were able to straiten and fix it. I tried to do a 180 on the hot pavement with a set of damn BFG Radial T/A's and it turned into a 270 with my back wheel slamming into the curb. Hit it hard enough that I even bent the axle a little. It couldn't hurt to have it checked out. And if you've ever got a problem like this again, just run the blemished wheel on the back of your car, so you won’t feel the minor imperfections to such an extent. I mean….you’ve already gotten a new wheel, so it couldn’t hurt to keep a spare. Not to mention if you ever sell them, or the car…it’s a nice little bargaining chip to have an extra wheel to work with.

You never heard about that law that Jean Charest etablish? You can't bring the city in court, and the city isn't responsible for suspension/wheel damage on the quebec/any other province roads..

Thats what I heard.. let me know if it's true..

That mag looks scrap to me but if you want the name of a company that repairs mags, here it is http://www.pjacques.com/ . By the way I wrote the government a few months back about that stupid increase on the plates for 4.0 and up motors and received that same e-mail from them. No one ever called me back so don't hold your breath .

I'm not expecting anything from them to be honest , I'm just trying our system , I just want to see how they handle a concern from a regular taxe payer like me.

The factory tires and wheels from my car have more side walls to absorb impacts so first of all they can easy answer me : Sir you don't have the factory wheels so your case is dismissed , but I just wrote a polite letter and lot of photos.

I want to see who we are dealing with.

I think it's interrsting for all of us .

Also thanks for the link ToplessStang
