I bought the kit for $120 that says 79-86 but they may have sent the wrong ones. They had me send pictures with dimensions on original trim piece and the ones they sent. They were about 4" shorter. Hopefully they have the others because it's hard to find ones that arent all dry and cracked.Did you buy the weather strip kit for $50 0r weather strip and trim kit for $120? Not sure if they changed it between 79-81 but all ways used the Fairchild Kit with both but they list that as 81-86. KF2042 about $130 on rock auto.

Those come in the 2042 kit that Fairchild list as 81-86..... Its inner and outer kit much cheaper then everyone selling just outers..Check this one out.

Same thing I think lmr is selling.... The 2031 is just the outer trim & weather strip, 2042 is outer and inner, there not like the 87-93, where its sold as 3 separate peices per door, except DC now sells the outer rubber weather strip that clips into the trim. but most of the original trims are trashed and as far as I know no one sells just the trim minus the weather strip on it, just fairchild's version of it. Pretty easy to tell them apart, as the trim has the angled section that sits behind / under the mirror.Check this one out.

Looks like I got the wrong name of the part Im looking for. Im looking for the trim that runs along the top of the door on the outside, not against the window. See the part that is coming up off the top of the door near the handle? It goes from one end of the door to the other by the A pillarLooks like no one repops 79-82 style..
That's the kit everyone sells as 79-86 but the trim is different from 79-82 if you look at them closely.
Upper door belt line trim advice needed
Recently acquired a 79’ notchback but it is missing the upper belt line outer trim piec on both sides. I have not been able to locate aftermarket replacements and wondered if anyone had a source. Or what years are compatible so I could look for some off a parts car? Thanks in advancestangnet.com
