Over Heating

Has any member here have a issue with your car over heating after using a new aftermarket fan blade? When I was working on my engine bay I switched to a Flex-a-Lite fan blade and now it seems I have over heating problems.

I plan on placing my stock fan blade back on, but just wanted to know if any other members had this problem?

Thanks.

Hi! There is a couple diferent type off flex fan, the one shape like a star doesn move enough air for a V8 engine. the second one is for V8 and move alot of air. Is this your problem.

Are you running a fan shroud? From what I remember you really don't save much with a flex fan. If you have room, you are better running a stock type fan with a thermal clutch. Another thing to watch out for is fan rotation, because serpentine and v-belt setups generally run in opposite directions.

I've seen a lot of threads where people with aftermarket mechanical and electrical fans have trouble with overheating. I think the aftermarket units are generally cheaper and lower quality than the OEM units.
