My fox is running hot after rebuilding motor. I have done all the “normal” fixes but still having the issue! The only thing I did different was bypassed the leaking heater core. I basically looped the hose on the bottom port of water pump directly to a brass nipple on the intake. Would this cause the car to run hot? I’ve read that set up just pumps hot coolant back into the block??? Also, it only runs hot when driving and that happens in less than a mile. It will idle for an hour and gauge never gets above half way! Any advice would be much appreciated.

start with the easiest first
air in the system
no oil pressure or low on oil
leak in system
thermostat in backwards
bad thermostat
belt on backwards
hoses collapsed
fan not working
intake gasket slipped
head gasket on backwards

Well after doing some research on the head gaskets I discovered that the passenger side head gasket was on backwards...luckily the car never got hot enough to cause damage! #LiveandLearn.. Thanks for the tip Mikestang63!
