My car has a light coat of overspray basicly on the whole body from painting the under carriage. Have a pretty nice portacable buffer I can use and various pads. Haven't had to remove this much overspray before so does anyone have any suggestions on what products I should use to remove it? Thanks.

I've removed over spray with a rubbing compound (Turtle Wax was the brand) then a good waxing after.

Wipe it off with wax and grease remover and then buff it back up.

The whole car is covered in it. It is very light though. Overspray is black and over the paint you cant actually tell its black so its not heavy. I have a bottle of 3M rubbing compound, the good stuff. So that sounds like something I could use right?

The Mothers Clay bar would work great for this as well. It would take all the contaminants off of your paint before you grind them in with a buffer.

Use a clay bar and if you do be sure to keep flipping sides, tearing and putting it back together so you don't scratch the shi* out of your paint and if that doesn't try acetone.

Clay, then rub it out with a light cut compound. Always start as light as possible, then move up if needed. Then finish with a nice polish or wax when it's finished.

Well I picked up the meguires clay kit the other day and tried it out. Works very well, takes off the overspray fairly easy. Took me about 4 hours to do both fenders, hood, front bumper, and get a good portion done under the hood. Will need a good coat of wax when its done but it will look good as new.
