I have been doing mine also. How did you get the horse to come off of the top. I was just going to polish the horse but yours looks way better with out the horse. also is there and performance gain in doing this and what all is needed to do to the throttle body.

I pretty much tell you in the link I gave above what all is need to do the porting.

Mdvaldosta, looks pretty good. Mine looks about the same only I think mine is a tad more honed out and I've worked on mine with sandpaper so many times its really smooth. If I were to polish it up, it would look almost identical to the throttle body I posted in that other thread. Takes some work though but worth it in the end.

I kept the openings on almost the same size, it will fit a 70m perfectly. I didnt work much on opening it up - I worked on trying to get the flat sides more rounded so I could get as close to the same size bore all the way through to keep the velocity up.

Anyone having a little trouble smoothing it out where the bend is? Right before that hump was. Other than that, mine is bored out a little and smooth as hell.

Yea mine definately doesnt look the greatest their, but its smooth. Try not to make it any bigger back their, just work on removing the hump and leaving a small smooth ridge above the egr passage if your keeping the egr system. When I remove my egr setup Im gonna epoxy that hole closed and smooth it out completely. Remember the larger you go, you may increase cfm but you will hurt velocity. Don't make the port any larger than the size of a 70mm throttle body (no way should you use a 75mm on it).

Work on re-contouring the bottom floor down to the port, especially the edges as its considerably more raised down there.

Thats the hardest part to work on. It's difficult to fit your hands in there and difficult to maneouver the dremel took inside as well I havent ground my EGR out completely yet. To smooth that area out, you need some corse 40 grit sandpaper and 3 fingers and lots of rubbing. Yes, it will still be difficult even then.

Alright, I think I finally finished.
It is ok that I removed the bump before that hole right? Jeez that sounds so ignorant.

Yes, thats ok. The hump you're reffering to is what most call the "EGR hump".

OK, guys - I think I'm done. I could work on this thing forever, but it's time to move on. It originally came off my 02 GT, but it's going onto my wife's 01 GT on Wednesday evening. Other than having to rig the small hose onto the big fitting (which I'll do with a couple small pieces of tubing and a clamp or two), it should bolt right up.
Does anyone know if the TB size is the same from 01 to 02? If they are the same I think I'll just use her TB, since the TPS is already attached.
Well, here's the finished product. Not great, not perfect, but after it hides in among the rest of the engine, I think it'll look pretty good. Hopefully it'll flow a bit better than stock, but I'm not holding my breath.

They are the same. Did you port and polish the inside as well? I installed the stock P&P'ed plenum in tonight. I have to say it was just as good (if not a little better) than my C&L.

Yep, I ripped up the inside before doing the outside. Doing the outside was an afterthought. I'd be thrilled if it works anywhere near as well as my Accufab. It's definately lighter than it used to be - I musta ground about a pound of aluminum off the friggin thing!
I've heard that just removing the running horse is worth 2-3 HP itself!

I got a really cheap air die grinder last week. Came with some grinding bits. It was alotta work to get it ported and stuff, but it was fun and I had nothign else to do. Its not that smooth, but I tried to make it even. I cant find any sand paper rolls for that grinder. Thats what I wanna do, it'll own. I'll do it again and get it hooked up. It made a low and mid range difference. Not huge but some. Worth my time, I didn't have anythign else to do anyways

I had the C&L plenum in before. So if it did anything-probably 3-4 HP. Hell. I don't have a job so I got a lot of spare time.
